Craft a Cozy Weekend: Create Your Own Boxy Pouch with Our New Bluish Collection!

"Share the Chic: A Pouch for Every Quilter's Personality"

Hello, Zen Chic Family!

As the festive season twinkles closer, I've got a delightful weekend project for you, perfect for a heartfelt Christmas gift or a chic treat for yourself. Remember the Boxy Pouch? Yes, that charming, FREE pattern from Pink Stitches that we all adored! If you missed it, you can find the original tutorial here. I've previously blogged about my first take on this project using the quilt-as-you-go technique, which you can revisit here. It's a fantastic way to give your fabric scraps a glamorous new life.

Now, drum roll, please... Our brand-new Bluish collection has arrived, and it's time to unveil a second, equally stunning version of the Boxy Pouch. This iteration also champions the spirit of repurposing scraps. This time, I’ve precut them into 2 1/2" squares. You’ll need 40 squares, making a Mini Charm Pack (42 squares of 2 1/2" each) an ideal choice.

Following the foundational steps from Pink Stitches, but tweaking the dimensions to fit my square scraps, I've crafted a pouch measuring a cute 8" x 4" x 4".

Honestly, can one ever have enough of these adorable pouches? I tailored mine to hold my makeup essentials. It’s not just a beauty bag though; imagine it as a snug harbor for your mini knitting projects, a great place to gather all your device cables, a portable nest for your hand-sewing hexagons... the possibilities are as endless as they are delightful!

(Here’s a challenge: think of more ways to use this versatile pouch and share them in the comments below!)

I am utterly smitten with mine and tempted to keep it all to myself. But, the joy of making these pouches is so infectious, I'm certain I'll be crafting more to gift to my dear ones.

So here are 10 ideas to fill one of these beauties and give it as a Christmas gift:

  1. Travel Companion: Fill it with travel-sized toiletries and grooming essentials for a convenient on-the-go hygiene kit.

  2. Craft Carrier: Stow away small crafting supplies like threads, needles, and a thimble for a portable sewing kit.

  3. Tech Tidy: Organize charging cables, earbuds, and other small electronics to keep your tech gear in one place.

  4. Artists' Arsenal: Pack it with your favorite drawing tools – pens, pencils, erasers, and a small sketchbook.

  5. Tea Time Tote: Carry an assortment of tea bags, sweeteners, and a mini honey jar for a brew-anywhere kit.

  6. First-Aid Fixer: Stock it with band-aids, antiseptic wipes, and individual medicine packets for a travel first-aid kit.

  7. Jewelry Jumble: Use it to keep your jewelry pieces safe and untangled while traveling.

  8. Stationery Stash: Fill it with pens, stamps, stickers, and note cards for a mobile stationery suite.

  9. Beauty Buff: Apart from makeup, it's perfect for hair ties, bobby pins, and mini hairbrushes for quick touch-ups.

  10. Snack Stow: Pack it with nuts, granola bars, and dried fruits for a healthy snack pack on the go.

So, grab your needles, pick your favorite Bluish scraps, and let's dive into a weekend of creative bliss. Don’t forget to share your creations with us on Instagram using the hashtag #ZenChicBoxyPouch. I can't wait to see how you add your personal touch to this charming project.

Happy quilting and much love, Brigitte
