With a new collection hitting the stores, it’s always a challenge to try to find the perfect pattern to showcase the fabrics in that collection. So you browse the internet and check on your favorite stores. You are determined to find that one fun pattern that is worth taking your fabric scissors and making that first cut in your precious fabrics.

Let’s quilt together

Remember those times before Covid-19 hit and we all could come together to sew and quilt together? Fun times indeed. I miss those days sometimes where we all talked about our latest buys and the collections and patterns we found.

Bless the internet and online Quilt Alongs. Via groups on Facebook, for example, we can share some of the fun of our favorite way to use our free time. And when in one of those Facebook groups people are coming together for a Quilt Along, it couldn’t get any better.

Zen Chic’s very first Quilt Along

We at Zen Chic wanted to give you a place just like that. With our new collection Dance in Paris came a brand new pattern and it turned out to be a gigantic success. At the end of April, we started our own Quilt Along with a supportive Facebook group to share and chat all about this new collection and pattern.

In the Spring in Paris Quilt Along I walk you through making this quilt providing lots of expert advice and video tutorials, send to you by a special newsletter series. More than a thousand people signed up to join in the fun of making this Spring in Paris quilt together.

An evergreen event

The beauty of this particular Quilt Along is, we turned it into an evergreen event. That means you can always sign up throughout the year and start making your quilt, following the video tutorials and advice I give you in the newsletters.

Our Facebook group is open for you to join as well. You’ll find almost 1200 fellow quilters helping each other out with advice and comments on fabric choices and so much more. It’s truly a fantastic place to be which makes being a part of this Quilt Along so much fun.

The Spring in Paris pattern

The Spring in Paris quilt, measuring 60” x 59”, is not hard to put together. Basically, it’s joining triangles to form rows. Once the rows are sewn together the triangles show up as hexagons.

The fun already starts with spreading out your fabrics in a way to build a gradient color pattern. From lighter on top to dark at the bottom. However, should you wanna try something else and need some inspiration, check out #springinparisqal on Instagram. You will find so many different variations and different fabric choices giving you an idea of what you can do with this Spring in Paris pattern.
