Juniper Fabric Basket with the Even More Paper Fabrics

Make this stylish fabric basket with fabrics from the EVEN MORE PAPER line by Zen Chic

Let me ask you something… when you start on a new project, do you collect everything beforehand? Or are you pulling it out from your supplies as you go?

Gathering your sewing supplies

Either way, we need to grab our sewing notions, patterns, fabrics, and all else we need when we make a new quilt, or a fun little project. Wouldn’t you agree that it is much easier to have everything at hand and in one place? Maybe you work on your dining table and everything needs to go when it’s it’s time to set the table for dinner. Or you’re working on some hand-stitching and you want to pack it up when you go to bed.

Use a stylish fabric basket

I have just the thing for you. Svetlana from SOTAK Handmade never disappoints with her cool and practical patterns. She has all kinds of bags, purses, and pouches in her online shop. Browsing through her patterns, I found one for a fabric basket which I loved. You can never have too many baskets, am I right? And it’s the perfect size… in fact, this pattern comes in two different sizes!

Juniper is particularly helpful for storing your knitting supplies or your latest purchase of fabrics for a new project. But as a said before, also for your sewing notions or crocheting project.

Juniper, a beautiful fabric basket

I can imagine also using it for the toys of your (grand-) children. Clearing away their toys will be a blast with a Juniper fabric basket in a fun fabric. Let them pick it out themselves and the basket becomes their favorite, I’m sure. No more lego bricks and pieces everywhere!

Our Juniper fabric basket, which was sewn for me by Ulrike Brauns is made from my fabric collection Modern Background Even More Paper. On the outside, it has an industrial-styled zipper to enhance a cool style. The basket has an interesting drawstring closure, making it a bit playful. Ulrike put the fun little label “Think outside the box” on the backside… no pun intended, hahaha…

Not just for your sewing notions

Go check out the pattern for yourself over at Svetlana’s shop and make a fun basket too. Other than toys and sewing notions, you can keep the buns warm during breakfast, or put a glass jar inside it to hold your pens and markers for you or your kids. You are only limited by your own imagination, as the author Benny Bellamacina said…

Teaching classes!

I have some exciting news to share with you. I will be teaching two classes in Nantes, France, from April 20 to 23, 2022. To be exact at “Pour l’Amore du Fil”. The website says:

“The Pour l'Amour du Fil show is the meeting place for enthusiasts of the entire textile world. Patchwork, Sewing, Embroidery, Deco, Knitting, and all their actors settle every year for 4 days of festivities at Exhibition Center de la Beaujoire in Nantes, France.”

This show presented by Quiltmania has extraordinary quilts in exhibitions, a lot of interesting classes artists, and many shops to buy from - it is a fun event worth the travel to France.

I’m very excited and I truly hope to meet you there, if you’re able to come. Do say hi! As I said, I’ll be teaching two different workshops for which you can book a spot at the crafting table with me.

Introducing my new book!

Furthermore, I’m also introducing my new book in France and I’ll be having a book-signing session. I intend to have lots of photos from the show and I’ll post them in a blog post together with a recap at the beginning of May. And of course, I’ll tell you all about my workshop and my new book.

Wishing all my readers a wonderful Easter holiday and I hope you get some time to sew and quilt!
