The Kaleidoscope Mini Quilt and Week 3 of the Bauhaus Quilt Along

A beautiful mini quilt in the Even More Paper fabrics combined with Spotted blenders.

The Kaleidoscope Mini Quilt featuring the Even More Paper Collection

We have seen a great collection of mini quilts here on the Zen Chic blog. The Mini Freebie Quilt, the Gumdrop Mini Quilt, and a couple of weeks ago, we had the Compass Mini Quilt.

Maybe you still have a pile of leftover fabrics and you would love to use them. This week, I have another mini quilt for the somewhat experienced quilter this time, the Kaleidoscope Mini Quilt.

Fabrics for the Kaleidoscope Mini Quilt

It’s a modern and unique quilt, might I say, where we used a mix of Spotted blenders together with the low volume collection Even More Paper.

I only pulled 5 different blue shades and a lime green one from the Spotted collection for the beams of the kaleidoscope to make it pop. It’s the same color range as the lap size quilt of the Bauhaus pattern, a bonus in the Quilt Along. This gives the Kaleidoscope Mini Quilt a cool-toned feel and the lime green adds that spark bringing it all together.

Train your sewing skills on curved seams

Making this quilt, you can even train your sewing skills on curved seams. Have you shied away from curved seams so far? They are not so hard to master. We have a complete video tutorial on how to do that on our YouTube channel..

The Kaleidoscope Mini Quilt Templates

To make this quilt you can find the templates for the pieces to cut out and sew together the curved blocks in our free Resource Library. Bear in mind, we only offer just the bare templates, we don't have any sewing instructions for this mini quilt or fabric requirements.

Don’t have the password for the free resource library yet? Click here and you’ll get it straight into your inbox. It’s chock-full with all kinds of patterns and templates.

Make your own!

The Kaleidoscope Mini Quilt has 16 big blocks, measuring 6” square each, making the finished piece 25” square. It is a beautiful decorating piece for your wall or can serve as a lovely table topper.

I would say grab your scrap bag and find all those low volumes you have gathered over time. Or make use of a little Charm Pack of the More Background Even More Paper collection to have a nice assortment for your blocks.

Once you have your fabrics, take your rotary cutter, watch our video tutorial, and print out the free templates from the Resource Library. Have fun making this charming quilt.

This example of the Kaleidoscope Mini Quilt was sewn by Sandra Schnadhorst. You can find her on Instagram @nadelgoettin. Thank you so much Sandra, it turned out beautifully.
