Looking for a backpack?

Are you looking for a fun, handy dandy backpack? Maybe you need some errands to run, want to take your laptop with you to the library to work, and carry some essentials you need while there?

Perhaps your teen needs a sturdy bag for their school books, notebooks, and pencil case. This backpack from Noodlehead is the perfect one for all kinds of uses. And for everyone to enjoy. Depending on the materials you choose to make the bag, it can be a trendy and hip one for your kids or grandkids.

I bet you’ll want something a bit more stylish for yourself. You need a bag that is up to a certain standard to go with your outfit. It’s all in the fabrics that you choose because the design of the Range Backpack is one for all ages frankly.

You can make one for yourself to run errands. While shopping, it’s nice to have your hands free. A backpack is perfect for that. It’s also perfect when riding your bicycle on a beautiful Sunday afternoon with some snacks and your water bottle. The zippered front pocket is ideal to put your wallet and keys in. And in the bag, you can have your phone easily accessible when you put it in the little pocket.

The Range Backpack à la Zen Chic

For the exterior of the Range Backpack, I picked out News Dropping Fog from my Even More Paper collection in combination with a faux suede in graphite. The interior of the bag is my Spotted Charcoal fabric that also was used for the straps.

Add a black zipper and black metal rings and you’ve got yourself a cool, fun backpack.

As Anna aka Noodlehead describes her Range Backpack, she says it has lots of details and it is a fun project to sew. The key features according to her are (and I quote), “a foldover top with closure, a front exterior zippered pocket, adjustable straps, an interior slip pocket, and a hang loop.”

Besides the 100% cotton of the Even More Paper and Spotted collections my assistant Oggi Charisis used to sew this bag, you could also make this backpack in materials like waxed canvas or cotton canvas. Perfect for our teens to take to school or a trip into nature.

Instructions and video tutorials

Although Noodlehead’s pattern comes with excellent sewing instructions, sometimes it’s beneficial to have someone show you how certain steps are done. There are a few YouTube videos online from people making this backpack. I found this video tutorial from Sewgnar and one from A Needle N Thread in 2 parts.

Anna has also made an inspiration and resources page on her Noodlehead website. Go check it out too for more eye-candy on this lovely backpack!

Now tell me, how do you like this backpack? Would you sew it in a fun and cool fabric? Or do you fancy a more stylish outcome?
