Create this beautiful laptop case using the fabrics from the DANCE IN PARIS line by Zen Chic

There are times you need to bring your laptop. Maybe you’re going on a trip and you want to get some work done. Or one of the kids needs to take their computer to school and back home. Perhaps you need to carry your device with you to work and back. There are all kinds of situations thinkable where you would take your laptop with you.

Protect your laptop

It is essential to protect your laptop on the go. Not having good protection can be tricky. The outside of your laptop is usually smooth and slippery. And you don’t want your device to get dirty from dust and such. So you need something to put your laptop into.

There are different solutions available. You could buy a laptop bag or use a regular backpack. But they are big and, most of the time, not that appealing to look at. You want something a bit more special. Surely you could just put it in a regular bag, but those aren’t really protecting your precious device.

The best solution

We can agree on the fact that you need something padded and “hugging” your laptop, right? But you want something colorful as well, maybe something stylish even.

Your laptop needs a beautiful cover when you take it with you. And you are just the right person, you can make it yourself. You get to choose what it looks like, how big it needs to be, and which fabrics you want to use.

Make your own laptop case

Make yourself a stylish and charming laptop case with this pattern from Minki Kim. She is known for the simplicity of her patterns, so success is 100% guaranteed should you use one of her patterns.

The quilting and the stiffness from the soft & stable batting make for an excellent grip of this case. So it’s safe to say it won’t slip out of your hands quickly.

Oggi Charisis sewed the laptop case shown here. She used a few prints from the Dance in Paris collection for the plus signs and low volumes in the background, making the finished surface exciting and eye-catching. Don’t you think the little squares in grey low volume fabrics between the plusses give just that little extra accent?

Do you want to make this beautiful laptop case yourself too? For your own laptop or give to somebody who could use a little protection for theirs? You can find all the sewing instructions in the Love Patchwork & Quilting Magazine, issue 78. Just click the button and it will take you to the website where you can buy the magazine.

Happy sewing!
