Presenting the SPOTTED line in a playful new baby quilt pattern
As a grandmother-to-be (again) I’m currently having a lot of fun designing useful yet stylish baby equipment. This mood inspired me to create the quilt pattern BABY BALLS, using fresh, light colors from my SPOTTED collection in playfully arranged circular appliqués. The finished quilt has a size of 61" x 61", which perfectly fits for a play rug, baby blanket or on-the-go changing mat. If you want to make it extra cosy, you can use a fleece for the backing.
The broad color palette of this quilt needs only one Layer Cake of the SPOTTED series. The Layer Cake comprises 32 different modern and fresh colors, which read like solids, but have a little freckled texture to add some extra interest.
It’s an easy-going quilt pattern, even for beginners: The circular patches are applied with the raw edge appliqué technique, which makes it a fun project you can finish in one weekend. So in case your best friend, or sister in law or so is giving birth quite soon, you can still get this quilt done in time.
The quilting motif is an all over pantograph with a Yoyo design, which is especially cute for the little ones. See a detailed picture here:
Baby Balls is available now in my online shop. You can purchase yours here.
Stay tuned for more quilt patterns from the new SPOTTED and MORE PAPER series.
