Okay, let me paint you a picture.
It's early morning. There's a professional film crew setting up in my studio. We're talking serious gear – Sachtler tripods, Sony cinema cameras, an Aputure Storm 1200x light so bright it could probably illuminate a small village. Cables everywhere. Camera bags taking over every surface. The kind of organized chaos that makes your heart beat a little faster.
And me? I'm sitting there with the biggest smile on my face, trying to act completely normal. Which, as you can probably imagine, is not my strong suit when I'm this excited.
So, What's Going On?
Here’s what I can tell you: something big is coming. Something from Bernina. Something that made me do an actual happy dance in my studio when I first heard about it (yes, scissors were involved as maracas. No regrets).
I’ve been part of a brand‑new campaign, and the team came in to film a proper video right here in my home. My real home. With quilts on the table, fabric rolls in the background, and me trying to look calm and composed… which is honestly adorable.
Now, is it a new machine? Yes.
Can I tell you which one? Absolutely not. I’m under strict “zip it” orders, and it is taking every ounce of my self‑control not to spill the beans.
But I can say this: it’s technically brilliant in the kind of way that will make your quilter brain go “WAIT… we can do that now?!” It’s the kind of upgrade that makes you rethink what’s possible and immediately start planning a new project just to put every single feature through its paces.
Behind the Seams
What I loved most about this whole shoot was seeing the two worlds collide – the precision and professionalism of a film production with the warmth and creativity of a quilting studio. The crew was incredible. Focused, efficient, and yet somehow completely at ease with rolls of quilting fabric peeking into every shot.
We laughed a lot. We adjusted lighting to compete with a gray northern German sky (spoiler: the Aputure won). We draped quilts just so. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I realized: this is exactly what I love about this work. The craft, the collaboration, the creativity – all tangled up together.

The big reveal is coming in a few weeks. I'll be here with all the details, a proper introduction, and – let's be honest – probably a lot of exclamation marks.
Until then, keep watching this space. Something is coming that you are going to absolutely love.
And if you happen to see a very professional-looking light rigged to a van outside a house in northern Germany... that was us. Just doing what we do. 🧵✨
