Write on White - a very popular Zen Chic Pattern sewn with Quotation fabrics

Minimalistic, simple yet sophisticated, and fresh... all in one quilt

Today I wanted to bring back a very popular quilting pattern, one which I already created in 2014. It is called Write on White. Because of the use of only squares and sashing between the blocks, it’s a minimalistic and simple quilt to sew.

If you’ve ever been to an optician, you know they have these reading charts with the letters that go from very big to utterly small, right? That was the inspiration for this quilt, only I turned it upside down. So the pattern goes from small blocks at the top to the bigger ones at the bottom. It makes for a fun look in my eyes (no pun intended!).

As you can imagine this pattern lives by its fabrics. The name says it all, the Write on White quilting pattern is mostly made from purely white fabrics. That gives it the main impression of being clean and fresh. It would look totally different if you use colored prints instead of the cool whites.

Quotation, the new collection in stores now, has a good range of black and white prints in it. And so I thought to myself, why not make a layout where you could see how Quotation would work out with the Write on White pattern. Considering my fabric choices and a mock-up of how the quilt would turn out, it’s a success, don’t you think?
