BLOCK 21
CIRCLE AND STAR
Last week we worked on Block 19 and 20. This week we have again two blocks in our Moda Blockheads 2018 (Round 2) project. This time we have an appliqué block, Circle and Star, hosted by Jan Patek. Jan loves to appliqué and although her quilts are intentionally traditional, her appliqué designs are kind of “primitive”, in a way, that you can easily adapt them for modern design ideas.
Block 21, Circle and Star
I can easily imagine this simple star as a motif for a teenage sweater or in a smaller version on a baby romper. I did mine with raw edge machine appliqué: button hole stitch with cotton thread around the shapes. 15 min block!

ECONOMY PATH
We had a similar one before: Remember? Block 9: A simple Plus sign on a 6” block. This time Laurie Simpson went a bit smaller by repeating the Plus sign four times on this small 6” block.
