Well, this was fun.
I recently sat down with Brandy Maslowski for an episode of The Quilter on Fire Podcast — and we went all the way back to where my creative story began.
Long before Zen Chic, fabric collections, and quilt patterns, there was a six-year-old girl in Germany, watching her grandmother sew and waiting — not very patiently — until her feet could finally reach the sewing machine pedal.
From there, our conversation travels through my years in interior design, my discovery of quilting, and the ideas that still shape my work today: simplicity, balance, color — and why sometimes leaving something out is just as important as adding it. Very important. Very underrated.
Brandy and I had such an easy, enjoyable conversation that those 79 minutes went by remarkably fast.
So instead of telling you the whole story here, I’ll let you listen.
Put on your headphones, pick up some hand stitching — or take me along on your next walk — and join us!
