I’m honored and proud to be part of this magazine brimming of modern quilt inspiration: SIMPLY MODERN from Quiltmania, issue no 15. This Quiltmania issue has a lot of wintery quilts, some are Christmas quilts like mine, some are independent from any season, modern evergreen quilts. To add even more interesting content to the magazine, you can read a portrait of Erick Wolfmeyer and Heather Black. Besides there is a report about the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham this August and a review of the exhibition of European Patchwork Meeting in Alsace.
So here comes issue 15, at newsstands now.
12 projects hand-crafted by Judy Tucker, Valori Wells, Heather Black, Brigitte Heitland (that's me, yeah!) and several other exciting designers.
One of my Christmas quilts is also featured in this issue No 15 (see below):
The pictures show my quilt, Mistletoe. It is a modern take on an appliqué quilt with a traditional block setting. The raw edge machine appliqué, the simplified leaf shapes and the modern fabrics of my collection White Christmas make it a quilt, which is classy and timeless. The neutral color palette gives the Christmas quilt a look, which outlasts any fashion trends and let it be a heirloom Christmas quilt for more than one generation.
