Scrappy Chic: The Alpen Belt Bag
One of my latest projects took me back to the delightful world of scrap busting. I grabbed the ALPEN BELT BAG pattern from Center Street Quilts and first whipped up a version in cozy fleece for my granddaughter. Adorned with cute stars, it became the perfect birthday present, warming not just the heart but also keeps all the personal treasures of my little one. 🌟
But that was just the beginning of my bag-making adventure. Inspired by the success of the first bag, I embarked on a second version – this time using colorful scraps, transformed into a vibrant mosaic through the quilt-as-you-go method. Originally, this second bag was also meant to be a gift, but – here comes the confession – I fell head over heels for it! This second bag turned out to be so practical and stylish that it has now become my indispensable travel companion. Sorry, my dears, but grandma's keeping this one! 😄
From Quilts to Quests: A 3-Week Adventure!
Hold onto your rotary cutters, because here comes the big news - I'm embarking on a 3-week vacation to meet my globe-trotting son halfway in Indonesia! I'll be swapping my quilting studio for the bustling streets of Bangkok, the serene beaches of Bali, the untouched beauty of Lombok, and the urban jungle of Singapore. While I'll miss our quilting chatter, I promise to keep you all updated with tales from my travels. Who knows, maybe I'll find some exotic fabrics along the way! ✈️
