Enfold, a pineapple block pattern
Enfold is made from a Fat Eight Bundle of the collection Even More Paper in combination with Black from the Spotted line. It has a variety of different hues. We have white, eggshell, linen, Zen grey, and steel. You can bring them in order from light to darker and create a beautiful gradient. I used this color gradient in the pineapple blocks in the Enfold pattern

How to make a pineapple block
The pineapple block is made only from strips which you sew in rounds around a center. Think about the log cabin block, but different. You alternate the low volumes with just one color, in my case a black fabric. The black fabric is from the collection Spotted. It’s not really a deep black, but more charcoal which still shows a little bit of texture in it.
In the Enfold pattern is a pineapple block template included to make this process of sewing around a center more clear and to help you put together the blocks. Some quilters use a special pineapple block ruler, but really there is no need to buy such a ruler. I’ll show you in the pattern how you can use a regular quilting ruler to make the perfect block.
Make it your own
To adjust the appearance of the pattern to your home’s interior, you can always replace the black with a color of your choice. If your living room has green accents, you can pick a green fabric, like the Grass from the Spotted collection. Maybe you have a royal blue bedroom, you could replace the black fabric with the Spotted Royal one, and so on.
Modern quilt design for men
Because of the pattern and colors I used, I got a lot of compliments for this quilt from men. So it seems that it’s also a nice quilt to give your grandson for his birthday or to make a male family member happy with this quilt at his graduation.
The pineapple block is a classic block but the Enfold quilt in its colorway looks very modern and striking.
